while mommy's away...

the boys will play!! I went out of the town this weekend, and Warner & daddy stayed home. Warner's newest love is golf - I hear ALL DAY - "I play golf!" He really is pretty good too! So daddy & Warner went to the golf course and "play golf". He gets out everytime with his daddy and uses his plastic clubs to hit his ball. Watch out Tiger Woods!!

Here are a few of the not so many pictures I took at Laurin's baby shower. Isn't she beautiful?? I can't wait to meet this precious baby boy. I already love him and he's not even mine...

Here is his adorable room that Laurin "designed" herself - she did all the art work and designed the bedding (her mom did the sewing). Now all she needs is a baby - and a name for the baby!

My little traveler

This was Warner's first time to have his own seat on the airplane (now that he's 2 years old). It was so much better having that extra room. He didn't understand why he had to keep the seat belt on, but once he got over that he was good. Well, except for on the trip there when he spilled his neighbor's coke all over his iPod. On the trip back I made sure to sit in the middle!!

on the way home, watching his DVD with his head phones on and eating his pretzels

Grapevine Vintage Railroad

Have I mentioned that Warner is obsessed with choo choo trains?? This is something my parents have been wanting to do with Warner for a while, but it's an all day thing and we usually have lots planned for our short visits. We are so glad we did this last week - Warner LOVED it!! It was very hot - especially on the ride back since the sun was right on us, but it was worth it.

Keller Point Water Park

This place is a kids dream...it's a kid's size water park - slides, water falls, water spraying up out of the ground, buttons to push, levers to turn. Warner was so happy the entire time he never closed his mouth from smiling (therefore swallowing probably a gallon of water). He is a little fish - we barely got him out of the water to eat!

meme, pam, & sydney arrive

On Sunday Meme, my aunt Pam, and cousin Sydney arrived to stay a week. We hadn't seen Pam & Sydney for almost a year, so it was great to see them. We had fun shopping, eating. and we all attended a cooking class one night. Warner got to hang with the girls!

say CHEESE!!

We had our picture made today (all 3 of us). Of course, Warner wouldn't exactly cooperate, but hopefully some of the pictures will turn out . Here he is before the photographer showed up - look how still he is sitting....ha! That didn't last long!!

We are having a busy summer around here - traveling, appointments, swimming, birthday parties... It doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon. This little boy is at SUCH A FUN AGE!! I know I say that about every age, but he is just so funny. I am constantly calling Chris to tell him what funny thing just came out of his mouth. He knows what he wants - "I watch choo choo, I do it, I hold it, I sleep in mommy & daddy's bed, I go outside and play, I ride in dada's truck..." This morning as I was trying to get him dressed for the pictures, he was telling me "bye mommy, I gotta go". He will tell me "I tee tee on potty", so then I take the diaper off, go to the potty, and all he wants to do is flush it. My mom has told me to have patience, but I don't think this potty training thing is going to be easy! He loves to point out the trucks as we are driving down the road - "big truck, big white truck, big black truck" - he is really into colors! He plays with his choo choo train everyday - I will hear him from another room saying, "choo choo. All aboard!" I could just eat him up!! He is growing up too fast - getting so tall. I'm trying to enjoy every second and remind myself daily of what a blessing this little boy is to us.

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Chris, Warner & I headed out to Memphis this weekend for a much needed family getaway. We slept late, ate yummy food, and did a little shopping. We spent too much time at Bass Pro Shop!! Daddy had a GREAT father's day - filled with all new fishing gear!
Warner is so blessed to have a daddy that LOVES him soooo sooo much!! I know they say little girls have their daddy wrapped around their little finger, but this little boy sure has his daddy that way. These 2 are so much alike - I can already tell that Warner is going to love some of the same things his daddy loves - golf and tractors to name a few. Warner made his daddy his father's day card - it is precious...with hand prints. I'm sure daddy will treasure it for years to come. We love you daddy!!!

Happy Father's Day Buddy & Pops!!! We love you!!

thank you is not enough...

We are so blessed!!!

We have felt so loved this past week. Thank you to our friends and family - the calls, the messages, the emails, the flowers, the food, the cards, and most appreciated-the prayers. God is good!! My parents got in the car Monday without hesitation and drove the 7 1/2 hours to be with me. There is nothing like having your parents when you are hurting. My mom has been with us for the past week (she left today) - she has cooked, cleaned, washed clothes, and done everything for Warner. She is THE BEST!! My friends have cooked for us, called everyday, and offered to take Warner and play. I have been surrounded by love and compassion!
More than anything, we have been reminded what a miracle and a blessing our little Warner is to us. He is so special - he was before last week too, but now more than ever. How can you have a bad day when you have this little face to look at??

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

More on Warner later - he is changing so much, so fast...

God is good ALL the time.

As I sit down to write this, I don't even know how to begin. 15 weeks pregnant seems so far along, so out-of-danger, so yay we're having a baby! I went to my regular appointment Monday, June 2. After waiting what seemed like the longest I have ever had to wait, I was called back to a room. The nurse came in with me, instructed me to lay down on the table, and she got the Doppler all ready. After about 5 minutes of her attempting to find the heartbeat, there is nothing. Another nurse is brought in to give it a try & she gets nothing either. To say I am freaking out about now is a big understatement. The whole time I am praying - "wrap your arms around me Jesus, give me a peace, don't let me freak out." I am escorted to the ultrasound room where it is revealed that my baby has no heartbeat, no movement, no anything. DEVASTATION sets in. How can this be happening?? I am 15 weeks pregnant!! I don't understand!
The truth is there is no explanation. We will never know what exactly happened to this little miracle that was with me for such a short time. I know that I am blessed to have even carried this baby for this long. I am blessed that God shared with me the miracle of life. I know that everything happens for a reason. God has a perfect plan for my life. I am mad, upset, confused, frustrated, so many things, but I still trust in Jesus. He will see me through this. He will carry our family through this loss, and he will bless us again.
