Happy Birthday to me!!

I celebrated a birthday last week (July 22). Since I was out of town for the big day, my sweet friends took me out tonight to celebrate. Nothing better than a girls night out!! They surprised me with a group present - a gift certificate to the Alluvian. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face!! Now all I have to do is decide if I want to stay at the hotel, attend a cooking class, or go to the spa. THANK YOU Lesley, Mary Evelyn, Jennie, Julie, Rachel, & Julie.

Mary Evelyn made this yummy strawberry cake.

i thought this would work...

Since Warner is in love with choo choo trains these days...I thought I would try a little bribery - "You can wear choo choo underwear if you tee tee on the potty." HA HA!! He is so not interested and I'm really not pushing it - just thought these underwear would be a miracle worker. He looked so cute in them...and then tee teed on the floor right after I took these pictures. Potty training is going to be fun!!!! The expression on his face says it all.

Warner's 1st sucker!!

I was hoping this day would be a long time from now. I don't like suckers - messy, sticky, & choking hazard!! But...this sweet man at the store gave Warner this sucker this afternoon and he wasn't forgetting about it. I made him sit down in the kitchen floor and enjoy his little treat - it was messy!!!

BEACH 2008

"Wow mom! Can we stay here forever?!"

Warner is in love with his baby cousin! "baby jaurel" He never says her name without putting "baby" in front of it...

waiting on mommy & daddy to go to the pool

THANK YOU mom & dad (buddy & kissy) for a wonderful, relaxing, much needed trip to the beach!! We had the BEST time being with family. Lots of laughs playing Catch Phrase every night, lots & lots of eating, and lots of just enjoying life!! These are just some of my favorites of the 200 pictures I took while we were there. I'm sure you'll be seeing more later...

swimming lessons

Have I mentioned that Warner is a little fish?? He LOVES the water, has never been scared of it, and can sometimes scare his mommy to death! He has learned so much this year - jumps off the side, goes under water, kicks his feet, blows bubbles in the water, etc. We spend a lot of time at the pool!! So when I signed him up for swimmng lessons at the beginning of the year, I thought this is going to be great. He is going to be swimming everywhere. Well, it didn't go as well as I thought. He was great for the first 5 minutes. He showed Mrs. Harriett (his swim teacher) how he could jump in and go under water, he was kicking his feet for her and blowing bubbles in the water. She was really impressed! She couldn't believe how he would go under and even pour water on his head. After a little while Warner realized mommy wasn't in the water with him and he was ready to get out - "hold me mommy, hold me mommy". He eventually got hysterical and wouldn't do anything. We stayed the whole time to see if he would change his mind. He did get in with her a few more times, but only for a little while. We're gonna give it up for this year - her advise, not my decision - and start over next year. She thinks he's a little too young. I am still so proud of this little booger!!
Here he is swimming Saturday at a birthday party. I don't know if you can see it or not, but he has Thomas the train in his hand!!!!

and this was taken during the swimming lessons this afternoon - the first 5 mintues when he was cooperating...

friends

Just a little over 5 years ago we were all strangers. We met in August of 2003 and went through the most stressful 2 years of our life together - graduate school!! We try to get together as often as we can....so last night (while Kasey was in town from Virginia) we met in Oxford and had a great time laughing and catching up. A lot has changed in the last few years - we all have babies or babies on the way! We use to get together and just talk about speech pathology, now we talk about our babies!! I love these girls!!
me, Kasey, Jennifer (with baby Colton in her belly), Landon (with baby in belly), & Lesley

Kasey came in town today to visit with Lesely & I a little more. She has a precious little boy Mason who was born the day after Warner. We took her & Mason to the pool and had fun trying to cool off from all this hot weather.

1, 2, 3 JUMP!!

daddy's corn

Warner went out to the farm to help daddy with the corn Monday. I have a feeling, as soon as Warner is old enough, he will be helping a lot!!

4th of July Party

Saturday night we went to a party at Mary Evelyn & Stoney's house. This was the first time we had gotten together with our supper club group since January...so it was about time! We had SO MUCH FUN!! We ate way too much - spinack dip, BLT dip, ribs, potatoe salad, slaw, corn casserole, dessert, etc... Toward the end of the night we got out the games. 1st, Twister - it was hilarious - we laughed so hard we cried. I took plenty of pictures below. Just imagine grown men & women trying to shape their bodies into these awkward positions!! 2nd, Cranium - this game is too fun! We stayed up way too late and were hurting the next morning, but it was all worth it. Chris & I have been blessed with great friends!!

TWISTER!!
